This journal focuses primarily on psychoanalysis and its history, but also on all the human sciences more broadly. The journal is open to all viewpoints and encourages discussion between different perspectives. Founded in 1969 by a small group of workers at the Etienne Marcel Center, Le Coq-héron is a multi-faceted magazine covering psychoanalysis, psychiatry, medicine, pedagogy, sociology and anything else closely or remotely related to these fields. With its polyglot committee, Le Coq héron also specializes in the publication of unpublished texts translated from various foreign languages (German, English, Hungarian, Spanish, Dutch).
