Kiswahili is a multi-disciplinary Journal advancing Swahili language, linguistics and literature. It is the peer-reviewed journal of the Institute of Kiswahili Studies, University of Dar es Salaam. Its main aim is to gather and disseminate under a single cover a wide variety of research and discussions concerning Kiswahili language, linguistics and literature. Kiswahili is a journal that discusses and develops issues related to the Swahili language, linguistics and literature. This journal is published by the Institute of Swahili Studies, University of Dar es Salaam. Kiswahili Journal publishes peer-reviewed articles. The main objective of the Journal is to collect and disseminate various studies and discussions on the Swahili language, linguistics and literature. Since its inception in 1930, the Kiswahili Journal has aimed to stimulate innovative thinking and encourage multidisciplinary debates on concepts, analysis, policy and practice for the development of the Kiswahili language, linguistics and literature. The journal welcomes debates on all economic, social, political and educational issues relevant to the development of the Kiswahili language. The journal accepts and publishes manuscripts of articles on Swahili language, linguistics and literature, language policy, and book and article reviews.
