Kirkuk Journal of Medical Sciences (KJMS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the College of Medicine at the University of Kirkuk, Iraq. Established in 2021. under the title Journal of Kirkuk Medical College, the journal adopted its current name in 2021 to better represent its expanding scope and international orientation. The journal provides a platform for researchers, clinicians, healthcare professionals, and academicians to publish original scientific contributions across a broad spectrum of medical and health sciences. It accepts original research articles, review papers, case reports, commentaries, letters to the editor, and clinical images covering both basic and clinical medical disciplines. All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism screening using iThenticate software and are evaluated through a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, and ethical compliance. The journal follows the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI), allowing unrestricted access to all published content without subscription barriers. KJMS publishes two issues annually and serves as an important venue for disseminating medical research relevant to Iraq, the Middle East, and the international scientific community. Through its commitment to academic excellence and open-access publishing, the journal contributes to the advancement of medical knowledge, healthcare practice, and biomedical research.
