Journal of Water Reuse and Desalination (JWRD)
Journal Descriptions
Journal of Water Reuse and Desalination was an international peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated to research on sustainable water management, particularly focusing on water reuse, desalination, and alternative water resource technologies. Established in 2011 by IWA Publishing, the journal provided a multidisciplinary platform for engineers, environmental scientists, chemists, and policy researchers working to address global water scarcity challenges. The journal published original research articles, reviews, technical notes, and case studies covering both theoretical and applied aspects of water treatment and reuse systems. Key topics included membrane desalination technologies, wastewater reclamation, potable and non-potable reuse, advanced filtration processes, water quality assessment, environmental impact of desalination, and integrated water resource management. It also addressed policy, regulatory frameworks, and socio-economic dimensions of sustainable water systems. A major focus of the journal was innovation in technologies that enable safe reuse of treated wastewater and efficient desalination processes for drinking water production. It supported global research efforts in improving water security, especially in arid and water-stressed regions. In 2020, the journal ceased publication and was continued under the new title Water Reuse, maintaining its focus on sustainable water engineering and management.
