Journal of Physiological Sciences (JPS)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Physiological Sciences is an international peer-reviewed journal and the official publication of the Physiological Society of Japan. The journal publishes high-quality original research articles, reviews, short communications, technical notes, and letters to the editor covering all major areas of modern physiology. Its mission is to advance the understanding of physiological mechanisms that regulate biological functions in humans and other vertebrates. The journal emphasizes molecular, cellular, and systems physiology and welcomes studies that integrate experimental, theoretical, and clinical approaches. Research topics include cardiovascular physiology, neurophysiology, respiratory physiology, endocrine physiology, exercise science, environmental adaptation, biophysics, and cellular signaling. The journal also encourages interdisciplinary investigations that connect physiology with biomedical sciences and translational medicine. Since its launch in 2006 under its current title, the journal has become an important platform for disseminating physiological research to the international scientific community. Articles are rigorously peer reviewed and indexed in major databases such as PubMed, MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science. The journal aims to promote scientific excellence and foster collaboration among physiologists worldwide while contributing to advances in health and life sciences.
