Journal Descriptions

Journal of Pelvic Medicine and Surgery was a peer reviewed medical journal specializing in female pelvic health, reconstructive surgery, urogynecology, and disorders of the pelvic floor. Published by Wolters Kluwer through Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, the journal served physicians, surgeons, gynecologists, urologists, and researchers working in pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. The journal published original research articles, clinical studies, surgical techniques, case reports, and review articles covering pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, minimally invasive surgery, reconstructive procedures, and female urologic disorders. It emphasized evidence based approaches to diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of pelvic health conditions affecting women. The publication evolved from the earlier Journal of Pelvic Surgery and later continued under the title Female Pelvic Medicine & Reconstructive Surgery, reflecting advances in subspecialty training and clinical practice. The journal contributed significantly to research and education in urogynecology and pelvic reconstructive medicine and was indexed in major medical and scientific databases.
