Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Mosaic Research (JMR) is an international academic journal dedicated to the study of mosaics and related cultural heritage research. The journal provides a scholarly platform for researchers, archaeologists, art historians, and cultural heritage specialists to publish original studies, analyses, and interpretations concerning mosaic art. The journal focuses especially on mosaics from Türkiye and regions connected with Turkish mosaic traditions, while also welcoming broader international studies on ancient, medieval, and modern mosaics. It covers research related to archaeological discoveries, artistic techniques, conservation, documentation, iconography, architectural contexts, and historical interpretation of mosaics. JMR aims to contribute to the preservation and understanding of mosaic heritage by encouraging interdisciplinary research combining archaeology, history, art history, architecture, and conservation science. In addition to research articles, the journal includes reviews, academic discussions, and information related to mosaic studies.
