Journal of Micropalaeontology (JM)
Journal Descriptions
Journal of Micropalaeontology is an international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the study of microscopic fossils and their applications in Earth science research. The journal is published by the Geological Society of London, one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious geological societies. Since its establishment in 1982, the journal has served as an important platform for scientists working in the field of micropalaeontology. The journal publishes high-quality research articles, review papers, and taxonomic studies related to microfossils, including foraminifera, ostracods, radiolarians, diatoms, and calcareous nannofossils. These microscopic fossils are widely used in geological and environmental studies because they provide valuable information about ancient marine environments, climate change, and the geological history of the Earth. Research published in the journal contributes to a wide range of scientific disciplines such as biostratigraphy, paleoceanography, paleoecology, sedimentology, and petroleum geology. Micropalaeontological data are particularly important in hydrocarbon exploration, where microfossils help determine the age and depositional environment of sedimentary rocks.
