The Journal of Marine Biosciences JMBS is the official Journal of The Department of Marine Biotechnology, AMET, Chennai, India published bi-annually. Marine Biosciences is an important field which has enormous scope. Our Oceans not only covers 76% on the Earth but also harbors almost all kinds of organisms classified. Marine Environment is having diverse ecosystems which enable the organisms to possess almost all biological processes described. Similarly, the Marine Organisms also having unique cellular, biological, physiological and environmental adaptations through a variety of biochemical specialties. The vastnesses of the Ocean, great diversity of Marine Organisms have tempted researchers to study on Marine Organisms with diverse research focus. Hence, research on Marine Biosciences needs much attention. JMBS would serve as a special platform for research communications in Marine Biosciences. The Journal of Marine Biosciences is published bi-annually by the Department of Marine Biotechnology, AMET. The Department with a long history of teaching and research is currently running postgraduate and research programs in Marine Biotechnology. The Department is actively engaged in research on Marine Microbial Diversity, Enzyme technology, Secondary metabolites from marine organisms, Marine Bioproducts and Bioprocess Technology with a core theme of “Bioactive molecules from Marine organisms”. The Department has productive collaborations with both Nationally and Internationally important research organizations. The Department also committed to disseminate the knowledge of Marine Biosciences by the way of organizing academic events and scientific communications. As part of this mission, we are publishing the Journal of Marine Biosciences with the enormous support and guidance from a dedicated team of Editorial Advisory Committee comprising of luminary researchers in Marine Biosciences across the Globe.
