Journal of Human Values (JHV)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Human Values is a peer-reviewed scholarly journal that offers an international forum for research and discussion on the role and relevance of human values across individual, organizational, cultural, and societal contexts. Published three times a year, the journal encourages interdisciplinary scholarship that examines human values not as fixed moral abstractions, but as dynamic forces that shape social behavior, institutional practice, ethical decision-making, and cultural understanding. Since its inception in 1995, the journal has published original research articles, conceptual papers, and book reviews that explore the historico-social origins of values, their culture-specific characteristics, and their contemporary relevance across fields such as philosophy, ethics, management, politics, and social theory. It aims to foster conceptual exegesis and rigorous intellectual dialogue, bridging diverse knowledge traditions and geographic perspectives. The journal’s scope includes applications of value theory to organizational settings, ethical frameworks in public affairs, cultural and social dimensions of value systems, and values in global and local institutions. As a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), it adheres to high standards of academic integrity and peer review. Its audience includes scholars in the humanities and social sciences, educators, policymakers, and practitioners interested in understanding how values influence contemporary life.
