Journal of Entrepreneurship (JOE)
Journal Descriptions
The Journal of Entrepreneurship (JOE) is an internationally recognised, peer‑reviewed academic journal published by SAGE Publications India in collaboration with the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India (EDII). Established in 1992, the journal has a long history of disseminating scholarly work that advances theoretical understanding and practical insights into entrepreneurial phenomena across varied contexts, particularly in emerging economies. JOE serves as a multidisciplinary forum that bridges diverse academic perspectives on entrepreneurship, including economics, management, psychology, sociology, and culture. It publishes high‑quality research articles, conceptual analyses, empirical studies, and essays exploring topics such as entrepreneurial behaviour, strategy and leadership, new venture creation, family and social entrepreneurship, entrepreneurial education and training, innovation, and the impact of institutional and cultural factors on entrepreneurship. The journal strongly emphasises research that contributes to deeper understanding of entrepreneurship across national and cultural boundaries, encouraging both substantive empirical evidence and conceptual rigor. JOE’s articles help inform scholars, educators, policymakers, and practitioners interested in evolving entrepreneurial environments, enterprise growth, and the dynamics of entrepreneurial ecosystems. With a tri‑annual publication model and stringent peer review, the journal continues to influence academic conversation and practice in the field of entrepreneurship studies.
