Journal Descriptions

The Journal of E-Government is a peer-reviewed academic journal that focuses on research in electronic governance, digital public administration, and the use of information and communication technologies in government services. Established in 2004, the journal provided a scholarly platform for examining how digital tools transform government operations, improve public service delivery, and enhance transparency and citizen engagement. The journal published research articles, case studies, and theoretical papers on topics such as e-governance systems, online public services, digital democracy, ICT policy, and information systems in public administration. It played an important role in the early development of e-government as a recognized academic discipline. In 2007, the journal underwent a significant transformation and was renamed the Journal of Information Technology & Politics, reflecting a broader focus on the intersection of technology and political systems. Despite the name change, its original contributions remain influential in studies of digital governance. The journal is indexed in academic databases and has contributed to shaping research in public sector digital transformation. It is particularly useful for researchers, policymakers, and scholars studying how governments adopt and implement digital technologies to improve efficiency, accountability, and citizen participation in governance systems worldwide.
