Journal Descriptions

Journal for Nurses in Staff Development (JNSD) was a peer reviewed professional nursing journal dedicated to staff development, continuing education, and professional growth in nursing practice. It served as the official journal of the National Nursing Staff Development Organization (NNSDO) and became an important educational resource for nurse educators, clinical instructors, hospital administrators, and healthcare management professionals. The journal focused on improving the knowledge, competencies, and leadership abilities of nursing professionals working in hospitals, academic institutions, and healthcare organizations. It published original research articles, evidence based educational strategies, leadership discussions, competency assessment models, and innovations in nursing education and staff training. Major themes included orientation programs, continuing nursing education, workforce development, clinical teaching methods, healthcare technology integration, quality improvement, and professional certification. JNSD was widely recognized within the nursing education community and indexed in major healthcare and nursing databases. In 2013, the journal was renamed Journal for Nurses in Professional Development to better reflect the expanding role of nursing professional development specialists in healthcare systems. The publication continues to contribute significantly to nursing leadership, lifelong learning, and evidence based clinical education practices worldwide.
