Journal des anthropologues (JA)
Journal Descriptions
Printed on paper and available online https://journals.openedition.org/jda/ , the Journal des Anthropologues , formerly called Bulletin de l'Association Française des Anthropologues , was born in 1979 with the aim of promoting the discipline and its contributions to the understanding of the social, political and ideological processes of contemporary societies. The Journal defends a comparative perspective, open to field analyses from neighboring disciplines (sociology, psychoanalysis, political science, economics, etc.) and to alternative expressions of social analysis (performing arts, images, etc.). The thematic dossiers and their calls for contributions explore innovative areas of research likely to open up new perspectives for the discipline and reflect its advances. The sections "Research and debates"; "Current anthropologies"; "Visual anthropology"; "Echoes from here and elsewhere"; "Public anthropology" devote a significant part to methodological and epistemological considerations, and to the evolution of the fields and methods of practicing anthropology. The Journal is edited by the Editorial Board supported by an International Scientific Committee. Articles are published in French and English after an evaluation process.
