Ife Journal of Science (IJS)

The Ife Journal of Science (IJS) is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Faculty of Science, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Nigeria. It is one of the leading multidisciplinary science journals in Nigeria and covers a broad range of scientific disciplines including physical sciences, biological sciences, chemical sciences, mathematics, geology, microbiology, biotechnology, agriculture, food science, medical sciences, and related applied fields. The journal publishes original research articles, short research notes, and review papers that contribute to the advancement of scientific knowledge. All submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process, typically involving multiple independent reviewers, ensuring high academic and methodological standards. The journal is managed by two Editors-in-Chief representing physical and biological sciences respectively, supported by an extensive editorial board of subject experts from various departments within the university. Ife Journal of Science is published three times annually, in April, August, and December, and provides a platform for both African and international researchers. It emphasizes originality, scientific relevance, and contribution to global scientific development. The journal has maintained a strong academic reputation over decades and is widely accessed in African scholarly databases.
