Established as an open-access platform in 2006, the journal provides a scholarly outlet for high-quality research in medicine and allied health sciences. It publishes original research articles, systematic reviews, case reports, clinical studies, commentaries, and communications across all branches of medical science. The journal focuses on advancing medical knowledge, improving clinical practice, and promoting public health research, particularly within Africa and developing regions. It covers a broad range of disciplines, including internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, community health, pathology, pharmacology, and basic medical sciences. Ibom Medical Journal follows a double-blind peer-review process to ensure scientific rigor, originality, and ethical publishing standards. It is published three times annually, in January, May, and September, ensuring timely dissemination of research findings. The journal is indexed in multiple databases, including Scopus, DOAJ, Google Scholar, and African Index Medicus.
