Journal Descriptions

Harrington Gay Men’s Literary Quarterly was an international peer-reviewed literary journal dedicated to publishing creative and critical works focused on gay men’s literature and LGBTQ+ cultural expression. Established in 2006, the journal provided a significant platform for fiction, poetry, essays, and scholarly commentary that explored themes of identity, sexuality, relationships, and queer cultural experience. It was published quarterly and featured contributions from both emerging and established writers, including literary scholars and creative authors. The journal was initially issued under Harrington Park Press and later became part of the broader academic publishing network associated with Haworth Press and Taylor & Francis archival systems. Across its publication history, it contributed to the development of LGBTQ+ literary studies by promoting voices that were often underrepresented in mainstream literary journals. Its content included short stories, experimental fiction, memoir-style essays, interviews, and editorial commentary, often reflecting contemporary social and cultural issues affecting gay communities. The journal also played a role in documenting queer literary movements during the early 2000s, bridging creative writing and academic analysis.
