Geodinamica Acta (GA)
Journal Descriptions
Geodinamica Acta was an international peer-reviewed journal dedicated to the study of Earth's internal and external geodynamic processes. Established in 1987, the journal provided a multidisciplinary platform for scientists investigating the dynamics of the lithosphere, hydrosphere, and deeper Earth systems. It aimed to foster communication among geologists, geophysicists, geochemists, geomorphologists, and physical geographers working on the mechanisms that shape the Earth over a wide range of spatial and temporal scales. The journal published original research articles, review papers, and special thematic issues covering tectonics, crustal deformation, mantle dynamics, basin evolution, seismic processes, volcanism, mountain building, sedimentary systems, and Earth-surface interactions. A distinguishing feature of Geodinamica Acta was its emphasis on integrating diverse scientific approaches, including field observations, laboratory experiments, geophysical surveys, geochemical analyses, remote sensing, and numerical modeling. The journal attracted contributions from researchers worldwide and served as a valuable resource for understanding the forces driving geological evolution and environmental change. Although publication ceased in 2020, its archived volumes remain an important source of research in geodynamics and Earth sciences.
