Fertilizer Research (FR)
Journal Descriptions
Fertilizer Research was an international scientific journal dedicated to advancing knowledge in soil fertility, plant nutrition, and fertilizer management. Established in 1980, it published high-quality peer-reviewed research focused on improving agricultural productivity through efficient and sustainable use of fertilizers. The journal covered topics such as nutrient cycling in soils, fertilizer efficiency, crop response to fertilization, environmental impacts of chemical fertilizers, and sustainable agroecosystem management. Published by Kluwer Academic Publishers and later associated with Springer, the journal served as an important platform for agronomists, soil scientists, and agricultural researchers worldwide. It included experimental studies, field trials, review articles, and proceedings from international conferences on fertilizer use and environmental agriculture. The journal emphasized balancing agricultural productivity with environmental protection, especially in relation to soil health and nutrient sustainability. In 1995–1996, Fertilizer Research was discontinued and succeeded by Nutrient Cycling in Agroecosystems, which continues its scientific mission today. Despite its closure, the journal remains historically important for its contributions to modern understanding of fertilizer efficiency and sustainable agriculture practices. Its research legacy continues to influence current studies in soil science and agricultural sustainability.
