Journal Descriptions

Falah: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah is a peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Department of Islamic Economics, University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Indonesia. Established in 2021, the journal focuses on the development of Islamic economic thought and empirical research in areas such as Islamic banking, Islamic finance, and Sharia-based economic systems. The journal publishes original research articles, conceptual papers, and literature reviews that address both theoretical and practical aspects of Islamic economics. Its scope includes topics such as Islamic financial institutions, zakat and waqf management, Islamic microfinance, economic behavior in Muslim societies, and policy issues related to Islamic economic systems. Falah follows a double-blind peer-review process to ensure academic quality and integrity. It is published twice a year, in February and August, and accepts manuscripts in both English and Indonesian. Since its establishment, the journal has evolved in quality and indexing status and is recognized in Indonesian academic ranking systems such as SINTA. The journal operates under an open-access model with no subscription barriers, promoting wide dissemination of Islamic economic research. It plays an important role in supporting academic discourse in Islamic economics, particularly in Southeast Asia, and contributes to the global development of Sharia-compliant financial and economic scholarship.
