European Journal of Wildlife Research (EJWR)
Journal Descriptions
The European Journal of Wildlife Research is an international peer reviewed scientific journal that publishes research related to wildlife biology, conservation, and ecological management. The journal was first established in 1955 under the title Zeitschrift für Jagdwissenschaft and later adopted its current name to reflect its broader international focus on wildlife science. It is currently published by Springer Nature and releases six issues per year. The journal provides an important platform for scientists, ecologists, and conservation specialists to publish original research and review articles related to the study and management of wild animal populations. Its scope includes topics such as wildlife ecology, animal behavior, population dynamics, habitat conservation, wildlife diseases, human wildlife interactions, and biodiversity management. In addition, the journal encourages interdisciplinary research that integrates wildlife science with environmental policy, conservation planning, and sustainable ecosystem management. Studies addressing the impact of climate change, land use changes, and human activities on wildlife populations are also frequently published. The European Journal of Wildlife Research aims to promote scientific knowledge that supports the conservation and sustainable management of wildlife species across different ecosystems. Because of its rigorous peer review standards and international editorial board, the journal is widely indexed in major academic databases including Scopus, Web of Science, and CAB Abstracts, making it an important source of information for wildlife researchers, conservation biologists, and environmental scientists worldwide.
