Journal Descriptions

The Ethiopian Journal of Human Rights (EJHR) is a peer-reviewed multidisciplinary academic journal published by the Center for Human Rights at Addis Ababa University. The journal aims to promote scholarly research, dialogue, and critical analysis on issues related to human rights, democracy, and social justice. It provides an academic platform for scholars, legal practitioners, policymakers, and human rights advocates to share knowledge and research findings that contribute to the advancement of human rights protection and promotion. EJHR publishes a wide range of scholarly works including original research articles, review papers, commentaries, case analyses, and reflections related to human rights law and policy. The journal encourages interdisciplinary approaches and welcomes contributions from fields such as law, political science, sociology, development studies, and international relations. Its scope includes topics such as constitutional rights, gender equality, minority rights, access to justice, and the protection of civil and political freedoms. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process to ensure academic quality, originality, and relevance. The journal particularly emphasizes research addressing human rights issues in Ethiopia and Africa while also encouraging comparative and global perspectives. By facilitating academic discussion and publishing evidence-based research, the Ethiopian Journal of Human Rights contributes to strengthening human rights scholarship, policy development, and public awareness within Ethiopia and the broader international community.
