East African Health Research Journal (EAHRJ) is an international peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal established in 2017 by the East African Health Research Commission under the framework of the East African Community. The journal was created to provide a scientific platform for the dissemination of research evidence that can support improved health policies, healthcare systems, and public health practices across East Africa. The journal publishes high-quality scholarly articles including original research papers, systematic reviews, short communications, commentaries, surveys, and technical reports. These publications address a wide range of health-related disciplines such as medicine, nursing, dentistry, pharmacology, toxicology, environmental health, veterinary science, food science, and health policy. The aim is to promote evidence-based decision-making and strengthen healthcare research capacity in the East African region. EAHRJ operates under a no-fee open-access model, allowing researchers and readers worldwide to access its content freely. All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure scientific quality, originality, and relevance.
