Journal Descriptions

Current Issues in Education (CIE) is a scholarly, peer‑reviewed, open‑access journal dedicated to advancing research and practice in education. Established in 2016, the journal provides a platform for educators, researchers, and policymakers to explore pressing challenges and innovations in teaching, learning, and curriculum development. Its scope includes teacher education, higher education, instructional technology, educational equity, and policy analysis. CIE is unique in being student‑led, offering graduate students hands‑on experience in academic publishing, editing, and peer review. This experiential model has been central to its mission, fostering the next generation of scholars while maintaining rigorous academic standards. Articles are published under a Creative Commons BY‑SA license, ensuring free access and wide dissemination of knowledge. The journal follows a rolling publication model, meaning articles are released online as soon as they are ready, rather than waiting for scheduled issues. This allows timely dissemination of research findings. With an average review‑to‑publication timeline of about 16 weeks, CIE balances efficiency with quality peer review. Over the years, it has become a valuable resource for academics, practitioners, and students seeking to engage with contemporary debates in education.
