Current Angiogenesis (CA)
Journal Descriptions
Current Angiogenesis is a peer-reviewed biomedical journal published by Bentham Science Publishers. The journal focuses on all aspects of angiogenesis, the biological process involving the formation of new blood vessels from pre-existing vasculature. It covers both physiological and pathological angiogenesis, with strong emphasis on its role in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, inflammation, wound healing, and other chronic disorders. The journal publishes a variety of content including original research articles, review papers, clinical studies, drug-related investigations, and methodological advances. It also includes special issues dedicated to emerging topics in vascular biology and therapeutic strategies targeting angiogenesis. A key aim of Current Angiogenesis is to bridge basic laboratory research with clinical applications, particularly in oncology and vascular medicine. The journal provides insights into molecular mechanisms, signaling pathways, biomarkers, and therapeutic agents that regulate blood vessel formation. Although it was active between 2012 and 2015, the journal is now considered discontinued (ceased publication). Despite this, its archived articles remain accessible and continue to be cited in vascular biology and cancer research literature.
