Journal Descriptions
Communication and Society is officially designed as the first Affiliate Journal of International Communication Association in 2015. Launched in December 2006, the journal serves the rapidly expanding research community in Greater China and other parts of the world. It aims to achieve three major goals. The first is to promote the development of communication science in Chinese through the publication of original and state-of-the-art research reports. The second is to serve as a bridge between scholarship in the East and West and to promote transborder perspectives in research. The third is to foster an interdisciplinary approach to the study of communication. Journal of Communication and Sociology (hereinafter referred to as the Journal) is a Chinese academic journal jointly sponsored by the Center for Chinese Media and Comparative Communication Studies of the School of Journalism and Communication of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and the Center for Media and Communication Studies of the School of Communication, Film and Television of Hong Kong Baptist University. Founded in December 2006, it currently publishes four issues annually in January, April, July, and October. The Journal has officially become a core journal indexed by the Taiwan Social Sciences Citation Index (TSSCI). Since January 2013, all academic papers published in the Journal of Communication and Sociology have been included in the TSSCI. The Journal was designated a first-tier core journal by the Taiwan Social Sciences Citation Index (TSSCI) in November 2018.
