Journal Descriptions

The increasing computational power of computers has significantly expanded the possibility of using artificial intelligence (AI) in various fields. There has been a transformation in the industry motivated by the natural ease of interface between humans and computers, and the promise of spectacular improvements in human capabilities. In the past two decades, a large number of AI systems have been developed in areas like speech recognition, image processing, computer vision, data mining, machine learning, software development, and robotics. In particular, there has been a significant surge in the application of AI in robotics. The growing need to automate daily tasks combined with new robotic technologies are driving the development of human-friendly robots. Intelligent robots with human-like intelligence and cognitive capabilities perform tasks in environments such as homes, public facilities and industrial plants. Robots are being used in tasks that are difficult for humans, like retrieving items from underground caves, retrieving bodies from destroyed buildings, and rescuing people in hazardous situations.
