It was first launched in 1960 by the Chinese Physiological Society and has since evolved into a globally recognized platform for publishing high-quality physiological research. The journal covers a wide spectrum of topics, including molecular and cellular physiology, organ system functions, neurophysiology, cardiovascular physiology, and disease-related pathophysiological mechanisms. The journal aims to bridge basic science and clinical applications by publishing original experimental studies, review articles, and translational research that contribute to understanding human and comparative physiology. It is peer-reviewed and follows a rigorous editorial process to ensure scientific accuracy and quality. The journal is published bimonthly, providing six issues per year, and is currently managed by Wolters Kluwer Medknow Publications in collaboration with the Chinese Physiological Society. Chinese Journal of Physiology is indexed in major scientific databases and has an established international readership.
