Cercles: Revista d'Història Cultural is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access academic journal published by the Universitat de Barcelona. Founded in 2018, the journal is edited by the Grup d'Estudis d'Història de la Cultura i dels Intel·lectuals (GEHCI) and is devoted to the study of cultural and intellectual history. It provides a scholarly forum for original research on the history of culture, intellectual movements, cultural institutions, nationalism, memory studies, and the social and political dimensions of cultural life, with particular emphasis on Catalonia, Spain, and Europe during the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. The journal publishes monographic and miscellaneous issues featuring research articles, historiographical essays, and book reviews in several languages, including Catalan, Spanish, English, French, Italian, and Portuguese. All submissions undergo a rigorous double-anonymous peer-review process to ensure academic quality. Cercles follows a Diamond Open Access publishing model, making all content freely available without subscription or publication charges. The journal is indexed in DOAJ, ESCI (Web of Science), ERIH PLUS, Scopus, and other international databases, enhancing its visibility and impact among historians and scholars of cultural studies.
