Journal Descriptions

This journal publishes scientific articles on child abuse in all its forms (sociological, psychological, medical, legal, etc.). It also aims to build bridges between research and fieldwork in the field of child abuse. The "Carnet de Notes sur les Maltraitances Infantiles*" publishes scientific texts in French relating to child abuse. The journal strives to use the difficulty of objectifying the notion of abuse as a lever to open dialogue and compare theories and points of view from different disciplines: social work, psychology, sociology, law, history, criminology, etc. The journal's ambition is not to isolate the management of abuse as a separate discipline; on the contrary, it aims to create links between practice and theory, and between research. The journal is published twice a year. It is distributed mainly in Belgium, but also in France and Canada. To ensure the journal's scientific rigor and validity, each text submitted to the editorial board is then peer-reviewed by at least two experts in the field, with expertise in clinical practice, research or both. Throughout the evaluation process, the anonymity of both authors and readers is preserved.
