Canadian Pharmacists Journal (CPJ)
Journal Descriptions
The Canadian Pharmacists Journal (CPJ / Revue des Pharmaciens du Canada) is Canada’s oldest continuously published periodical and a leading peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing research and practice in the field of pharmacy. Established in 1868 as the Canadian Pharmaceutical Journal, the publication evolved alongside the profession of pharmacy itself, becoming a key forum for discussions of clinical practice, policy, research, and professional innovations. Over its long history, CPJ has transitioned from a broad professional bulletin to a rigorous bimonthly journal that bridges the gap between research evidence and everyday pharmacy practice. Published six times per year, the journal features original research articles, clinical reviews, evidence-based practice guidelines, commentaries, and practice-oriented tools that support pharmacists in delivering patient-centred care and improving health outcomes — including areas such as medication management, chronic disease care, health systems, and interdisciplinary collaboration. CPJ also highlights innovative practice models and pharmacy leadership strategies that inform public health and health policy. As the official publication of the Canadian Pharmacists Association, the journal plays a pivotal role in shaping the evolving landscape of pharmacy practice in Canada and internationally. Beginning in 2026, the journal will be published by the University of Toronto Press, expanding its global reach.
