Bulletin of the American Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists (BASVCP)

Bulletin of the American Society of Veterinary Clinical Pathologists was the official peer reviewed publication of the American Society for Veterinary Clinical Pathology (ASVCP). First published in 1972, the journal provided a specialized forum for veterinarians, clinical pathologists, researchers, and laboratory scientists to share advances in veterinary laboratory diagnostics and clinical pathology. It published original scientific articles, case reports, technical notes, editorials, and society news related to diagnostic pathology and laboratory medicine. The journal covered a broad range of disciplines including hematology, clinical chemistry, cytopathology, endocrinology, toxicology, immunopathology, laboratory quality assurance, and diagnostic techniques applicable to domestic animals, laboratory animals, avian species, wildlife, and exotic animals. Its primary objective was to improve diagnostic accuracy and promote scientific communication among veterinary clinical pathologists. The publication served as the foundation for what became Veterinary Clinical Pathology. In 1977, the Bulletin was renamed and continued under the new title, reflecting its expanded international scope while maintaining its affiliation with the ASVCP. Archived issues remain valuable historical references documenting the early development of veterinary clinical pathology as a recognized specialty.
