Journal Descriptions

Buffalo Bulletin is an international peer-reviewed scientific journal devoted exclusively to research and development concerning buffalo species and buffalo-based production systems. Established in 1982 by the International Buffalo Information Center (IBIC) at Kasetsart University, Thailand, the journal has become one of the leading specialized publications focusing on water buffaloes and related livestock sciences. It serves as a global platform for researchers, veterinarians, animal scientists, extension specialists, and policymakers interested in improving buffalo productivity, health, welfare, and genetic resources. The journal publishes original research articles, review papers, case reports, short communications, and progress reports covering a wide range of disciplines. Major areas of interest include buffalo breeding and genetics, reproduction and artificial insemination, nutrition and feeding systems, milk and meat production, animal physiology, disease diagnosis and control, veterinary medicine, biotechnology, management practices, and socio-economic aspects of buffalo farming. The journal also welcomes studies on conservation, biodiversity, and sustainable livestock development. Buffalo Bulletin is indexed in major international databases including the Science Citation Index Expanded (SCIE) and Scopus, enhancing its global visibility and scientific impact. The journal provides free access to published articles and continues to support the dissemination of knowledge that contributes to the advancement of buffalo research and production worldwide.
