Journal Descriptions

Boletín Americanista is an international, peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the interdisciplinary study of the Americas. Established in 2011, it is published by the Universitat de Barcelona through its Scientific Journals platform (RCUB) in collaboration with Edicions UB. The journal serves as a forum for scholars interested in the history and culture of the American continent, encouraging innovative research from both historical and interdisciplinary perspectives. It publishes original research articles, thematic dossiers, book reviews, and critical essays in Spanish, with abstracts available in Spanish and English. The journal particularly welcomes studies on pre-Columbian civilizations, colonial Latin America, modern and contemporary American history, as well as social, political, economic, cultural, anthropological, artistic, and comparative studies related to the Americas. Since 2010, it has maintained a biannual publication schedule and follows a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure high academic quality. Boletín Americanista is indexed in major international databases including Scopus, ESCI (Web of Science), DOAJ, Dialnet, and REDIB, providing broad visibility to its published research. It is recognized as an important scholarly resource for historians, Latin American studies researchers, and specialists in American studies worldwide.
