The Biological and Environmental Sciences Journal for the Tropics (BEST) is a peer‑reviewed multidisciplinary scientific journal published by the Department of Biological Sciences, Faculty of Life Sciences, Bayero University Kano, Nigeria. It is dedicated to advancing scholarly knowledge in the broad fields of biological and environmental sciences, especially as they relate to tropical environments and ecosystems. The journal publishes original research papers, review articles, short communications, and methodological studies that contribute to the understanding of biodiversity, ecology, biochemistry, microbiology, environmental science, genetics, plant and animal sciences, and related life science disciplines.
