Arthaniti - Journal of Economic Theory and Practice (AJETP)
Journal Descriptions
Arthaniti: Journal of Economic Theory and Practice is a peer‑reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to advancing high‑quality research in economics, promoting communication between academic researchers, teachers, and policy makers. Originating in 1957 at the Department of Economics, University of Calcutta, the journal was relaunched in 2002 and has since published original theoretical and empirical research across the entire field of economics, including areas such as econometrics, economic history, political economy, development economics, and economic policy analysis. In 2018, SAGE Publications began publishing the journal in collaboration with the University of Calcutta, strengthening its international reach and visibility. The journal follows a double‑blind peer‑review process to ensure rigorous scholarly standards, and occasionally features special issues to highlight new research directions. Arthaniti welcomes contributions that address theoretical advances, empirical investigations, and policy‑relevant studies that contribute to deeper understanding and practical solutions to economic issues. Book reviews and survey articles are also occasionally included. Indexed in major abstracting services and databases, the journal serves as an important platform for economists worldwide, bridging academic rigor with relevance to current economic theory and practice.
