Angewandte GERONTOLOGIE Appliquée (AGA)
Journal Descriptions
Angewandte GERONTOLOGIE Appliquée was a bilingual, peer-reviewed journal dedicated to applied gerontology, focusing on research, practice, and policy related to aging populations. Published by Hogrefe in collaboration with GERONTOLOGIE CH, the Swiss Society for Gerontology, the journal served as a platform for interdisciplinary dialogue among researchers, practitioners, and policymakers in Switzerland and beyond. The journal covered a wide spectrum of topics, including health promotion, long-term care, innovative interventions for older adults, age-friendly environments, technology for aging populations, and social policies affecting older individuals. Contributions were welcomed from diverse disciplines such as social work, psychology, medicine, nursing, sociology, public health, and policy studies. A key feature of Angewandte GERONTOLOGIE Appliquée was its focus on the practical application of research findings. Articles highlighted evidence-based approaches and their real-world implementation, helping bridge the gap between academic research and frontline practice. The journal published articles in German and French, reflecting the multilingual nature of Swiss society and promoting knowledge exchange across linguistic regions. Though the journal ceased publication in 2019, its legacy continues to influence applied gerontology in Switzerland and internationally, fostering innovation and collaboration in addressing the challenges and opportunities associated with aging societies.
