Agora (Agora)
Journal Descriptions
Agora is Norway's largest and most important philosophical journal. Agora publishes interdisciplinary thematic issues, at the intersection of philosophy, social science and the humanities. Agora seeks to cover a wide range of themes from contributors belonging to multiple disciplines. The themes covered range from critical discussions of the work of selected authors (both academic and fictional) to selected topics. Examples include issues on authors such as Pierre Bourdieu, Bob Dylan and Susan Sontag and on themes such as architecture, power and neoliberalism. Plans for upcoming issues are announced on the Agora homepage. Agora publishes original articles by Norwegian and Scandinavian authors as well as translations of both classical and recent articles. Although each issue has a special theme, we also publish articles about other themes. Agora also gives priority to publishing a number of extended book reviews and review essays. Agora is therefore a voluminous journal, with ca 900 pages (two single issues and one double issue) per year. Agora is an academic journal, recognised as a scientific publication at level 1 in the Norwegian system. All articles and review essays are subject to double-blind peer review.
