Journal Descriptions

African Human Mobility Review (AHMR) is an interdisciplinary, peer‑reviewed open access academic journal established in 2015, dedicated to advancing scholarly understanding of human mobility across the African continent. The journal serves as a premier forum for high‑quality research, policy discussions and evidence‑based papers exploring a wide array of mobility issues including migration, forced displacement, asylum, refugees, diaspora dynamics, border studies, and mobility governance in socio‑economic, political and legislative contexts. AHMR publishes three issues per year — typically in April, August and December/January — and welcomes original research articles, policy analyses, book reviews and editorials that contribute to informed debate on migration trends and policies relevant to Africa. Under the leadership of Professor Mulugeta F. Dinbabo, the journal attracts a global interdisciplinary editorial board and engages scholars, practitioners, policymakers and students interested in migration studies. AHMR’s open access model ensures unrestricted access to its content, enabling wide dissemination of research that supports evidence‑based policymaking and promotes a deeper understanding of the complexities of human mobility across varied African landscapes.
