Journal Descriptions

Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica is a long-established, peer-reviewed international medical journal dedicated to advancing research and clinical practice in obstetrics and gynecology. Founded in 1921 and later renamed in 1926, it serves as the official journal of the Nordic Federation of Societies of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The journal publishes high-quality original research articles, systematic reviews, clinical studies, case reports, and guidelines related to women’s reproductive health. Its scope covers a wide range of topics including pregnancy care, maternal–fetal medicine, infertility, reproductive endocrinology, gynecologic oncology, urogynecology, and minimally invasive surgical techniques. The journal aims to bridge clinical practice and scientific research by promoting evidence-based medicine in women’s health. Published monthly by Wiley-Blackwell, the journal has a global readership and accepts contributions from researchers worldwide. It is widely indexed in major scientific databases and is recognized for its strong academic impact in the field of obstetrics and gynecology. The current editor-in-chief is Amarnath Bhide, who oversees the peer-review process and editorial direction. With more than a century of publication history, the journal remains a key platform for innovation and scientific communication in women’s health research.
