ACM SIGPLAN Notices is the primary publication of the ACM Special Interest Group on Programming Languages, produced under the umbrella of the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). Since its first issues in 1966, SIGPLAN Notices has served as a monthly forum for communication, community‑building, and dissemination of programming languages research and practice spanning decades of developments in computing. It covers conference reports, invited articles, community activity reports, summaries of SIGPLAN sponsored event proceedings, editorials, and feature pieces on programming language design, theory, implementation, and pedagogy. Members receive this publication as part of their SIGPLAN membership benefits, with access to each issue’s table of contents and selected articles in the ACM Digital Library. Over the years, SIGPLAN Notices has chronicled histori­cal advances in the field, from early language methodologies to modern systems and paradigms represented at premier conferences including the Symposium on Principles of Programming Languages (POPL), the Conference on Programming Language Design and Implementation (PLDI), the International Conference on Functional Programming (ICFP), and others. The publication has also provided a venue for SIGPLAN leadership to communicate strategic reports, program chair summaries, and developments in membership activities and initiatives. Though its format has evolved as digital delivery expanded, SIGPLAN Notices remains an invaluable record of programming language research activity and SIGPLAN community life.
