Journal Descriptions

A.M.A. Archives of Ophthalmology was a prestigious peer reviewed medical journal established in 1950 by the American Medical Association (AMA) . The journal focused on ophthalmology and visual sciences and became an important international platform for clinicians, surgeons, researchers, and academicians involved in eye care and vision research. The journal published original research articles, clinical investigations, surgical studies, review papers, and case reports related to retinal diseases, glaucoma, cataracts, corneal disorders, ocular infections, neuro ophthalmology, pediatric eye diseases, and advances in ophthalmic surgery. It also highlighted developments in diagnostic imaging, laser therapies, and vision preservation techniques. Later, the journal became Archives of Ophthalmology and subsequently evolved into JAMA Ophthalmology as part of the JAMA Network journal restructuring. The publication continues to be recognized worldwide as a leading source of high quality ophthalmology research and clinical innovation.
