Journal Descriptions
The journal is edited by the GERiiCO research center and supported by the Scientific Council of the University of Lille 3. It welcomes original work in various fields of CIS research, notably: media and new media analysis, cultural mediation, mediation and mediatization of knowledge and learning, cultural industries, training and information industries, audiovisual communication, organizational communication, innovation processes, scientific and technical information, analysis of technical devices in information access and knowledge processing, document metamorphoses, analysis of informational uses and practices. As of 2009, the journal has moved from one to two issues per year. Each issue features three sections: a thematic dossier with a call for articles, a Varias section for "non-thematic" articles, and a Lectures section devoted to book reviews and reading notes. Articles are evaluated by a reading committee made up of internationally recognized researchers in the theme of the dossier. At least half the reviewers are from institutions outside France. Communication Studies is an international French-language peer-reviewed journal in information and communication sciences. It operates on the basis of a double -blind reviewing process for all article proposals received. The journal is published in both paper and electronic formats. It welcomes works from various fields, including: media analysis, cultural mediation, mediation and mediatization of knowledge, cultural industries, training and information industries, audiovisual communication, organizational communication, innovation processes, scientific and technical information, knowledge organization, analysis of technical devices in access to information and knowledge processing, document metamorphoses, analysis of information uses and practices.
