Xavier Board of Higher Education in India (XBHEI)

XAVIER BOARD OF HIGHER EDUCATION IN INDIA, (XBHEI), is the only association of all the Catholic Institutions of Higher Education in India. It is officially recognized by the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of India(CBCI) and functions in collaboration ence of India(CBCI) and functions in collaboration with the CBCI Commission for Education and Culture. It is the Indian organ to represent the International Federation of Catholic Universities (IFCU / FIUC) with headquarters in Paris. It stands for Gospel values, Excellence and Leadership through higher education in India. Its national office is in Bangalore: Xavier Board National Office, 31 Primrose Road, Bangalore 560 025. The Church in India has invested her best talents and resources in higher education to continue the mission of Jesus Christ who commanded to “Go and Teach all nations” (Mt.28,20). In our educational ministry, both as individual institutions and as members of a corporate body such as Xavier Board, we try to build inclusive human communities for the re-generation of India and its people, through our share in nation building and national resource development. All our educational institutions and the committed personnel are the Church’s contribution to national development. The member institutions will initiate ways and means such as community contribution, services of Parent Teacher and Alumni associations, endowments, sponsorships, scholarships, exchange and twinning programmes and similar non commercial income generating schemes for finding its own financial resources for better infra structural and educational needs. These institutions foster a sense of ownership in community through forms of participatory administration, formation of advisory bodies and accountability structures. Our facilities will be shared for community services, ongoing education​. promote and safeguard the interests of Catholic institutions of Higher Education in India. help institutions in the spiritual, religious and general education of staff and students by undertaking and/or promoting training programmes, refresher courses, research, etc. co-ordinate the activities of the member institutions at the national or regional level to bring about greater unity and effectiveness. represent the special interests of the institutions before the Government, Judiciary, University, UGC, NAAC, NCTE, AICTE, and other related bodies in academic matters and also to ensure the rights of Minorities. ...view more
