Vivekanand Arts, Sardar Dalipsingh Commerce and Science College, Aurangabad

The College was established in 1971 by the great educationist and a visionary Late Pandharinath Patil alias ‘Bhau’. He always struggled to make the College a better institute offering different courses to uplift those students who hardly had any urses to uplift those students who hardly had any resources of educating themselves. Keeping in mind Bhau’s vision, the College has always been aiming at reaching to the under- privileged students mainly from rural area; with a variety of traditional and professional courses. As a result, major flow of the students getting enrolled in the College is from rural area more particularly from the districts including Aurangabad, Beed, Jalna and Buldhana. Apart from these districts, there are considerable number of students getting admitted in the College from different parts of Maharashtra. In its first cycle of accreditation, the National Assessment and Accredited Council NAAC, Bangalore conferred on the 'B++' Grade to the College in 2004. The second cycle of accreditation took place in 2011 in which the College scored to 'A' grade. The journey of the College from 'B' to 'A' grade showcased its incessant efforts to upgrade in terms of student-centric administration and academic excellence. In the year 2020, the College is about to undergo the third cycle of NAAC accreditation. This time too, the College hopes for better grade as it has been earnestly striving to meet varied needs of the students. We offer a wide range of courses, co and extra-curricular activities and technologically advanced facilities to the students and the supporting staff. Here, each individual is encouraged to step beyond the confines of academic and administrative disciplines to explore his/her personality to excel in the ever competitive world. With courses like B. Sc. Computer Science, B. Sc. Microbiology and Biotechnology and B. B. A., our College, is stepping ahead in the twenty-first century so as to meet the needs of the globalizing world. As a result, we provide the students state of the art and well equipped laboratories and infrastructure including large buildings, a play ground, a rich library, few departmental libraries and experienced as well as trained staff of high academic calibre. Along with striding in academics, the College has been consistently doing everything to make students proficient in cultural activities as it organizes Acting and Dance Training Camp every year. The students are even offered personality development training to meet the needs of employment. We have also signed MOU’s with industries, educational institutes and social organizations for the overall benefits of students. In sum, we have been working towards the all round progression of students which are our main stakeholders. UGC New Delhi bestowed status of college with potential for excellence. College has developed a state of Art central Research Facility with advanced sophisticated instruments.
