VMSDC has committed itself to become a center for excellence in Dental Education and Hospital Practice in the field of Dental Sciences with the objective of strengthening the health care of the country. The Dental College was established in 1986-87 and is at present conducting BDS and MDS courses in eight special divisions. The College is recognized by both the Dental Council of India and the Government of India. It is affiliated to the VINAYAKA MISSION'S RESEARCH FOUNDATION [DEEMED TO BE UNIVERSITY] from 2001-02. Earlier it was affiliated to the TN DR.MGR MEDICAL University CHENNAI TAMIL NADU from 1989-90 and it was affiliated to the MADRAS University from 1986-87.
