University of Lahore (UOL)

The University of Lahore was founded at the collegiate level in 1999[1] under the IBADAT Educational Trust and was granted full degree awarding status in 2002. It is one of the largest private universities in Pakistan. Degrees are awarded in medicine ities in Pakistan. Degrees are awarded in medicine, engineering, arts and social sciences. All programs are recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and government regulatory bodies in Pakistan. It is accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pakistan Bar Council, Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), Pakistan Nursing Council and the Pharmacy Council of Pakistan. The University of Lahore (UOL) has 2 campuses in Lahore, 2 campuses in Islamabad and one each in Sargodha, Pakpattan and Gujrat. All programs are recognized by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), the government regulatory body in Pakistan. The Lahore campus not only attracts locals in large number, but foreigners as well. The University also has courses accredited by the Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC), Pharmacy Council of Pakistan, Pakistan Bar Council and the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The University has also achieved the highest W4 category ranking with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan. The University of Lahore has 7 campuses, 11 academic faculties, 35 academic departments, 3 technology parks, 2 research centres, an alumni network of 23000+, and 150+ degree programs over 3,000+ courses. The total student body from all campuses is ~36,000 The University of Lahore is the largest private sector university in Pakistan with more than 35,000 students. It was established in 1999 and since then it is offering courses in the fields of Medicine & Dentistry, Engineering, Arts, Sciences and Social Sciences. With strong emphasis on balanced progress and focus on human capital, the University has grown to 11 faculties and 45+ departments. The quality of teaching facilities and research excellence have also earned UOL international recognition, placing it amongst the top three in Pakistan according to QS Asia World University Rankings 2022. The Higher Education Commission (HEC) recognizes the University of Lahore at its highest “W4” category of universities reserved for those institutions that fulfill all criterion of an International Quality University. Lahore is the second-largest city of Pakistan and the provincial capital of Punjab. Historically, it is said to be about 2000 years old. In the earliest times, it was a colony of Kangra hill Kingdoms and was a cut-off township on the trade route to Delhi. It had hardly any reputation in the Pre-Muslim era. Lahore came to fame with Islam in South Asia and started being called as the ‘Gardens of the Mughals’ or ‘City of Gardens’, after the significant rich heritage of the Mughal Empire. Lahore has always been a seat of learning and knowledge. Sufism and provisional spirituality became its primary discipline. Schools were opened, and scholars from Baghdad, Iran and other oriental and occidental regions came to this historical city and settled here. Lahore became famous for poetry. The city flourished academically during the four centuries of the Delhi Sultanate. It became the second imperial capital in 1580 under the Mughal Emperor Akbar the Great.
