The Achutha Menon Centre for Health Science Studies (AMCHSS) is the Health Sciences wing of the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology (SCTIMST). Established in 1974, the SCTIMST is an "Institute of National Importance" an CTIMST is an "Institute of National Importance" and a full member of the Association of Indian Universities & the Association of Commonwealth Universities. Over the last two decades, it has achieved national acclaim for its contribution in tertiary medical care, postgraduate training & research and development of medical devices & biomaterials. With the establishment of AMCHSS, SCTIMST acquired the unique combination of tertiary care, biomedical technology research and health science training and research. The main objective of the AMCHSS is to train health professionals in health research and in formulation and implementation of health policies.
