Thanthai Hans Roever College of Arts and Science is an educational institution run by the St. John Sangam Trust. It was established in 1985, as a religious minority institution in memory of Rev. Fr. The trust is now run under the efficient and benevolent leadership of the founder – Chairman, Dr K. Varadharaajen who is hailed not only as an inspiring Father of Education but also as the Foundation-Head of wisdom and unparalleled service to humanity. His vision and mission include a relentless pursuit to provide qualitative education, to empower the youth through updated knowledge and adequate skills, to foster socio-economic and cultural changes leading to sustainable growth and evolution, especially to the youth from backward and rural areas. The College is a self-financing and co-educational institution, affiliated to Bharathidasan University and approved by the University Grants Commission, New Delhi. To blossom as an institution of excellence, enabling, empowering and enlightening the youth and shaping them as fully developed human beings with the capacity to unfold their full mental potentiality resulting in the attainment of the wisdom to live constructively and meaningfully. To provide congenial and stress- free environment and opportunities for the enhancement of knowledge and acquisition skills through the best exposure and training possible. To offer multifaceted and need-based academic programmes and to promote extension activities. To adopt technology-enabled new methods, approaches and techniques so that the teaching-learning process becomes learner-centered and learner-friendly. St. John Sangam Trust, Perambalur has over 50 years service of managing educational, social and charitable institutions, numbering more than 30 institutions in and around Perambalur. The Trust has established all these institutions in memory of a German Missionary, Reverend Hans Roever, who initially established a boy’s home in 1950s for students from around the region. VARADHARAAJEN, the Chairman & Managing Trustee, the initial establishment has grown to include over 30 institutions of higher learning and social development.
