St. Jude’s Arts and Science College is the culmination of the long cherished dreams of the people of Vellarikundu region to have an institution of higher learning. The first batch of degree classes got started in August 2016.His Grace Rt. Rev.Dr. G got started in August 2016.His Grace Rt. Rev.Dr. George Njaralakattu, the Arch Bishop of Thalassery diocese is the patron. Rev.Fr. Joseph Antony Thekkemuriyil, a great visionary in the fields of social service and education , has been instrumental in starting this institution. He is the present Manager of the College.Prof.P K John ( Retired Associate Professor and former HoD, Dept. of English , Nirmalagiri College) is the founder Principal . St. Jude’s Arts and Science College caters to the diverse interests of the students drawn from all communities, especially the poor ,downtrodden and adivasis of the region. Its aim is to promote value –education. To inculcate value based education, cutting across all sectors, to sub serve the requirements of the nation, families and Mother Nature. To sensitize the youth to respond to broader vision, build capabilities in critical thinking and logical deduction to result in integral growth, constructive progress and they should reap knowledge to leap over competitors.
